Hey,

Same size as a robin.  Book says: ” When this large black and white Flycatcher flies from one perch to another, the white band at the tip of its fan-like tail leaves no doubt as to its identity. It seems to fly on the ‘tips of it wings.’  The red crown-mark, emphasized in many color plates, is concealed and rarely noticed.”

This is what makes it uniquely your bird: flycatchers usually perch upright on exposed twigs or branches “sallying forth at intervals to snap up passing insects”.  Otherwise they sit quite motionless except for an occasional jerk of the tail.

It’s scientific name is Tyrannus tyrannus.  Not so sure what to make of that!!
